Day 1: Arusha to Lake Manyara – The Great Rift Valley & Tree-Climbing Lions.

First, your SafariASAP expert driver will pick you up from your Arusha accommodation after an early breakfast. Next, you will begin your journey with a drive to Lake Manyara National Park, which sits at the dramatic base of the Great Rift Valley. Because the park is celebrated for its diverse flora and iconic wildlife, you should keep your binoculars ready. With a bit of luck, you might spot Manyara’s famous tree-climbing lions alongside elephants, buffalo, giraffes, and hippos. Additionally, vast herds of wildebeest and zebra call this beautiful place home.

In the late afternoon, you will leave the park and ascend the steep slopes of the Great Rift Valley. From here, you can enjoy a spectacular panoramic view of the park and Maasai Land stretching into the horizon. Finally, you will continue to the Karatu Forest Tented Camp, a serene retreat on the edge of the Ngorongoro Forest, for your overnight stay.

Day 2: The Ngorongoro Crater – A Descent Into Africa’s “Eden”.

To start the day, you will drive through lush rainforests to reach the rim of The Ngorongoro Crater. If the weather permits, a breathtaking view of the crater floor 600 meters below will reward you. Afterward, you will descend into this 20-kilometer-wide “caldera” for a world-class wildlife experience. Notably, this area offers your best chance to spot Tanzania’s rare black rhinos and massive “Big Tuskers”.

Later in the afternoon, after enjoying unparalleled sightings, you will ascend back to the rim. Take one last look at the crater floor before you return to Karatu Forest Tented Camp.

Day 3: Tarangire National Park – The Land of Giants & Baobabs.

Following breakfast, we head down to the Rift Valley floor and into Tarangire National Park. Since Tarangire hosts the largest elephant population in Northern Tanzania, sightings are almost guaranteed. Beyond the elephants, you should also keep an eye out for rare oryx, wild dogs, and even tree-climbing pythons. Meanwhile, the ancient, majestic baobab trees dominate the landscape, creating a photographer’s dream.

In the late afternoon, you will enjoy a final game drive. To conclude the trip, you will head out of the park and return to Arusha.
