Day 1: Lake Manyara

Your safari begins with a drive to Lake Manyara. Located at the foot of the Great Rift Valley escarpment, the park is known for its incredible beauty. You can spot lots of wildlife like buffaloes, elephants, giraffes, impalas, hippos and others. Overnight at a public campsite at Lake Manyara. Lunch box and dinner included.

Day 2: Lake Manyara – Serengeti

After breakfast, set off for Serengeti National Park. After having your picnic lunch on a kopje (rock outcropping) in the Serengeti, you’ll head further into the park for a game drive. Overnight at the Seronera public campsite in the central Serengeti. All meals included.

Day 3: Serengeti

Game drives throughout the Serengeti take up an entire day. You can see a variety of animals, including lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, monkeys, baboons, hippos, rhinos, antelopes, and numerous birds, depending on the season and the herds’ migration. Spend the night at the Central Serengeti’s Seronera Public Campsite. Every meal is served.

Day 4: Serengeti – Ngorongoro

Serengeti game drive in the early morning. Following breakfast, we’ll head to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and, weather permitting, take a nature walk in the afternoon at the Northern Crater Rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, which is home to a variety of wildlife species, including buffaloes, elephants, baboons, monkeys, and birds. Through dense bush, you follow animal paths escorted by a ranger or Maasai guide. Spend the night at Ngorongoro’s Simba Public Campsite. Every meal is served.

Day 5: Ngorongoro

Following breakfast, you will drive inside the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, for an amazing game drive and picnic lunch. The Ngorongoro Crater has the highest wild animal density in the world because so few animals are able to migrate in and out of its 2000-foot-high walls. Lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, hippos, flamingos, jackals, rhinos, antelopes, numerous birds, and other species are among them. One could anticipate seeing the “Big Five” in a single day. Overnight at Simba Public Campsite at Ngorongoro. All meals included

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a 6, day camping safari in Tanzania include?

A 6, day camping safari is a short but exciting way to experience Tanzania’s wildlife and landscapes. Most itineraries include visits to popular parks like Tarangire National Park, Serengeti National Park, and the Ngorongoro Crater. You’ll spend your days on game drives and your nights at campsites close to nature. Meals are usually prepared fresh by camp staff, adding to the authentic feel. It’s a great option if you want adventure without committing to a longer trip.

Is a 6, day camping safari enough to enjoy Tanzania?

Yes, six days is enough to get a meaningful safari experience, especially if the itinerary is well planned. While it’s shorter than some trips, you still get to visit key parks and see a wide range of wildlife. The days are usually full, with early morning and afternoon game drives. Because of this, you make the most of your time in the bush. It’s ideal for travelers with limited time who still want a real safari adventure.

What kind of wildlife will I see during this safari?

You can expect to see a variety of animals across the different parks. Common sightings include elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, and large herds of wildebeest. In the Serengeti, predator sightings are also quite common depending on the season. The Ngorongoro Crater is especially rewarding because animals are easier to spot in one area. Every game drive offers something new and memorable.

How comfortable is a camping safari?

Camping safaris are simple but designed to be comfortable enough for travelers. You’ll sleep in tents with mattresses or sleeping bags, and most campsites have basic facilities like bathrooms and dining areas. The experience focuses more on being close to nature rather than luxury. Camp staff usually take care of setup, cooking, and other needs. It’s a balance between adventure and convenience.

What should I pack for a 6, day camping safari?

Packing light and smart is important for a camping safari. Bring neutral, colored clothes, a warm jacket for cool mornings, and comfortable shoes. Essentials include sunscreen, insect repellent, a hat, and a flashlight or headlamp. A small backpack is useful for daily game drives. Don’t forget your camera or binoculars to capture the incredible wildlife moments.
