Once there, you can expect game drives, boat safaris along the Rufiji River, and sometimes guided walking safaris. The area is known for its wild, less crowded atmosphere compared to northern parks. It’s a perfect short escape that still feels rich and adventurous.

Is three days enough to enjoy Selous properly?

Three days is surprisingly enough to get a strong taste of Selous and its wildlife. While longer stays allow deeper exploration, a well, planned itinerary ensures you experience a variety of activities. You can enjoy multiple game drives and at least one unique experience like a boat safari. Because you fly in, you maximize your time inside the reserve rather than spending it on the road. Packing light is important since small aircraft have luggage limits, usually soft bags only. Bring neutral, colored clothing, a hat, sunscreen, and comfortable walking shoes.
